Users and Access

Learn about access settings and user management for app users.

Last updated 8 months ago

Heisenware allows you to manage access and users on the app level. Each app, even in the same workspace, can have completely different access settings and users.

This article concerns the users of your app created with Heisenware. If you want to manage users of the Heisenware platform, please read the article about .

Access management

There are five access options:

  1. Open to everyone

  2. Open to everyone with the master password

  3. Registration required

  4. Registration and master password required

  5. Invite only with registration required (Currently a beta feature and only available on request)

Master password

If you choose option 2 or 4, you have to set a master password in the access settings.

When opening the app, users have to enter the password every time to access it.

User registration

Heisenware has built-in user management. When choosing option 3 or 4, users have to register with an e-mail address and password or a Google account to gain access to the app. There is nothing more to do for you.

Invite only

Option 5 (Invite Only) allows you to create invite links for specific users and send them via email. Invited users can complete their registration by setting a password or using their Google account.

This feature is currently in beta phase and only available upon request.

User management

Apps can identify users or devices even without requiring registration. In the App users section, you can always find user entries. For apps that do not require registration, anonymized strings, IP addresses, and other session data are available here.

If registration is required for an app, the table shows the names and usernames of the users. Users who log in on different devices with the same email address (username) are of course recognized as the same user.

After your users have registered and logged in, they remain logged in on the same device. As the creator of the app, you can see all registered users in the card.
