General Settings

Learn how to manage an app's settings and metadata.

Last updated 7 months ago

App name

The app name is the visible name users will see for your app. When users install the app, the name will appear on their desktop, home screen, or wherever they place a shortcut. For apps not installed, the name will also be shown in browser tabs. We recommend keeping app names to 10 characters or fewer to prevent them from being cut off when displayed on the home screen.

We recommend keeping app names to 10 characters or fewer to prevent them from being cut off when displayed on a phone's home screen.

In the examples below, you can see how an app called "HW Demo" appears in different environments.

App description

The description is a text field to describe the content of an app for internal purposes. Users will not see the description. It is not mandatory.

App icon

You can upload a logo as app icon. It will be displayed when the app is installed or opened in a browser tab. In the HW Demo example above, the uploaded logo looks like this:

You will achieve the best results with a square image file. Smartphones automatically take a round cutout of that image. So, we recommend leaving some space around the actual logo to make it look nice.

Language settings

Heisenware allows you to develop apps in a reference language and have them automatically translated into other languages using AI. The language displayed to each user depends on the settings on the user's device.

You can set the reference language in the general settings of an app.

We support the following reference languages that can be automatically translated from one to another:

  • German

  • English

  • French

  • Turkish

  • Italian

  • Spanish

To enable multi-language support, click the checkbox and choose the languages you want to support.

This is currently a beta feature. Please to get access.
