App Installation

One of the key features of a Heisenware PWA is the ability for users to "install" it on their device for easy access, adding an icon to their home screen, dock, or desktop.

If the automatic prompt is missed, users can follow these manual installation steps.

The Install Prompt

On supported browsers, users will typically see an automatic toast message or an icon in the address bar prompting them to install the app when they first visit its URL.

If the automatic prompt is missed or not available, users can follow these manual installation steps for their specific platform.

On Desktop (Windows, MacOS, Linux)

• Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera: An install icon will typically appear in the address bar. Click it and follow the prompts.

• Safari (MacOS Sonoma and later): Use the menu option File > Add to Dock.

• Firefox: The desktop version of Firefox does not currently support PWA installation.

On Android

• Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.: The browser will usually show a prompt to "Add to Home screen." If missed, this option can be found in the browser's main menu (⋮).

On iOS (iPhone/iPad)

• All Browsers (iOS 16.4 and later): Tap the Share icon, then scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.

• Safari (iOS 16.3 and earlier): This feature is only available in Safari. Tap the Share icon and select Add to Home Screen.
